Norse arrived in north America travelling west from Greenland. North America was reached by Asian hunters who passed through the Bering land (when Asian and America were still joined together). Norse arrived in north America travelling west from Greenland.

In 1492 Christopher Columbus discovered a new continent.

Between 1500-1600 Europeans explorers unknown plants, animals and they excanged goods.

In 1607 colonists arrived in America in search of a better life.

In 1619 black slaves from Africa were taken to Virginia to work in some plantations.

In 1620 Pilgrim Fathers left Britan and find Plymouth colony.

On 4 July 1776 British colonies declared their indipendence.

In 1783 Britain recognized the indipendent United States of America.

In 1787 the Founding Fathers wrote Constitution in Philadelphia.

In 1789 George Washington became the firts president and New York was the federal.

In 1800 Washington became the seat of federal government.

The Great Seal of the USA The national symbol of the USA appears on US money and government documents; The symbol shows a bald eagle with the beak a ribbon that says the Latin motto ‘E Pluribus Unum’ (Out of Many, One). The motto means that the USA is one country made up of many states, but also that many different nationalities formed one nation. In the paw left the eagle has an olive branch and in the other has 13 arrows. In front of the eagle there is a shield with 13 red and white stripes, and a blue bar above it. Above the eagle are rays, a circle of clouds, and 13 white stars.
