SIJ HAS A LONG TRADITION OF PRODUCING BALLISTIC STEELS Steelworks Jesenice and Ravne have been developing and producing steels and semi-finished products for defence industry since 1970‘s, thus being the backbone of Yugoslavia defence companies. More than 800,000 tonnes armoured steel plates have been installed in armoured vehicles and submarines of Yugoslavian Army (tank M84 and M84AB, 4x4 vehicles BOV, transporter M80A).
