Hawkhirst 2015 Purpose of this meeting Share information and calm any fears……… Answer any questions you may have

Most school visits take place without incident Hawkhirst’s responsibilities: Activity instruction All safety checks on equipment and activities. All staff have appropriate qualifications and experience Our responsibilities General behaviour of group when taking part in activity To act ‘in loco parentis’ To supervise day to day running i.e meal times etc Most school visits take place without incident

What activities are on offer? Raft build Field visit, to bird of prey centre Abseil and climbing and zip line Night walk Archery Jacob’s ladder Crate stack Bell boating

Accomodation It’s nice! Children are accommodated in bunk rooms No mixed rooms-they are separated by teachers and a shared area!! They receive 3 meals a day (packed lunch needed on first day) Bedding is provided

What to bring? A list will be provided Footwear-trainers will suffice for most activities, spares will be needed for water activities. Plus an indoor pair. Hiking boots(if you have them) Sun-cream & Cap Swimwear Sensible clothes-it is not a fashion parade! They provide waterproofs & helmets No electronic equipment-games/mobiles

What to do next: Pay £10 deposit to secure place Speak to Miss Witherow if you are in receipt of free school meals Start making payments. When forms come out-fill in and return. When letters get sent some don’t get home, pester children for them!

What we will do next: Finalise numbers with Hawkhirst Send out a medical and contact form to be filled in by parents Issue emergency guidance for parents as well as share the full risk assessment Issue an equipment list All information will be put on the website… here Hawkhirst letters

And Finally We very much look forward to taking all the Year 6 children on the residential trip as we believe it to be a very valuable educational experience and they have a great laugh!
