CPW 11th Grade Reading Learning Intentions - Today, we will address these ACT College Readiness Standards in Reading: Close Reading 24-27. Purpose and Point of View 20-23. Close Reading 28-32. Key Ideas and Details 20-23. Word Meaning 24-27. Success Criteria – I am successful if I… Draw generalizations and conclusions . Understand author’s approach. Locate and interpret details . Determine the appropriate meaning of words.

11th Grade Directions 5 Minutes of Careful Reading There will be 5 questions this week. You will have 1 minute to work on each question individually. You will have 1 ½ minutes to work on each question as a Squad.

#1 The author suggests in the passage that Neanderthals: A. always hunted and gathered as a way of life. B. were equal to modern humans in warfare. C. may have been more successful than Homo sapiens at living in harsh climates. D. were superior creatures to Homo sapiens sapiens.
