Introduction to the Text and the Author Adam Grant was born 1981 in the suburbs of Detroit. He has received awards from the American Psychology Association. Grant has a BA from Harvard, an MA and a PhD in organizational psychology. Originally published on LinkedIn on May 13th 2013 Summary

1st aspect - Organization Introduction to Tom and his pursuit of happiness “A career and a culture would provide the perfect match” (532) What Tom did wrong when searching for his happiness. “Tom made four mistakes… on the road to happiness” (532)

2nd aspect - Ending “Toward projects and relationships that bring joy and meaning as by-products (534) How Tom was able to turn his life around? Grant quotes John Stuart Mill at the end of the essay. “Those only are happy who have their minds fixed on some object other than their own happiness.” (534 p. 10)
