Presentation transcript:

Jesus appears in glory as the Son of God Sunday, February 26th

Welcome to St. Peter! Transfiguration is a distinctly Lutheran addition to the Christian calendar. In the 16th century, Johannes Bugenhagen and Veit Dietrich placed the celebration at the end of Epiphany before Lent, remembering that Jesus descended the Mount of Glory and set his face toward Jerusalem (Luke 9:51).

Welcome to St. Peter! There are friendship registers at the end of each row. Please take a moment to give us your information so we have a record of your time with us today.

For Our Guests If you have questions, let us try to help. Speak with an usher, greeter, or the person next to you. If you’d like to learn more about St. Peter and it’s ministry, please talk to a pastor or member after the service.

Prayer before Worship Dear Lord, it is good for me to be here so that I can hear once again of your marvelous love in saving me from my sins. As I behold your glory on the mount of Transfiguration, let me see your glory one day in heaven by your grace. Bless my worship. Amen.

Please be courteous and silence all pagers and cell phones. Thank you

Our Communion Practice In the Sacrament of Holy Communion, Jesus gives us his true body and blood. We express unity with our Savior and those who share our faith and stand on the teachings of God’s Word. Therefore, we invite to our altar those who are members of our church or the WELS. Visitors and guests who wish to commune are asked to speak to a pastor before the service begins.
