Push-Tech Appeals Global

Remember this … Real property appeals from 2015 is finally resolved requiring data entry changes to Real Property General Information Residential Improvements Accessory Improvements PP Audits are underway that impact 2015, 2016, and 2017 accounts simultaneously Open 2015 screens and make edits Open 2016 and repeat Open 2017 and repeat Same basic issues exists in PP audits What if either example requires a NEW item be added? How do you keep the primary key the same for each digest year? Hello Online Support … ???

Now a better way exists … Real property appeals from 2015 is finally resolved requiring data entry changes to Real Property General Information Residential Improvements Accessory Improvements PP Audits are underway that impact 2015, 2016, and 2017 accounts simultaneously Push Tech allows you to setup 2015 to push data entry changes smoothly into both 2016 and 2017 to remove nearly all duplicate data entry LL:25 LL:25 LL:25

Push-Tech Basic idea is to allow data to push seamlessly to other databases to avoid dual/repetitive data entry when task impacts more than one year. Two independent modules APPEALS GLOBAL Configurable to push into up to five (5) different data locations Customizable exclusions available. Push-Tech only pushes forward to newer digest years

With great power comes great responsibility Push-Tech With great power comes great responsibility Field level edits completely replace receiving field contents without prompt or alert to the data entry user. Requires very good understanding and knowledge of full reach and impact of push technology to avoid unintended results.

When record level data doesn’t exist in configured years, user is prompted to add it Push-Tech AY2014 AY2017 AY2016 AY2015 AY2019 Field Level Edits are automatically pushed into configured data years User has screen control to avoid push if needed

Push-Tech Real Property Personal Property GLOBAL for property other than APPEALS Real Property Res Imp Com Imp Acc Imp Sketches** Land Covenants Sales Permits Business License Personal Property Aircraft Boats MEFF INVN Other

Push-Tech **Sketches are a different sort of beast Challenge: when a sketch is attached to an improvement located

So, where do I begin my setup? Push-Tech So, where do I begin my setup? TOOLS > PREFERENCES

Push-Tech

Five individual DB’s can be setup to receive the edits Instructions always here visible as a reminder/refresher of what Push-Tech actually is trying to do. Five individual DB’s can be setup to receive the edits

Screen’s reminder text: Push-Tech Screen’s reminder text: Push Technology allows you to define one or more databases for which appeal edits from the current database (digest year) will be sync’d and pushed to the database(s) defined in this list

Push-Tech When the appeal already exists in the other DB(s) listed here, only the fields changed will be pushed. When the appeal does not exist in the other DB(s) listed here, the entire item will be pushed into the listed DB(s)

What-if we allowed pushing backward? Appeal X-15 filed in 2015 Appeal R-13 filed in 2013 AY2016 configured to push appeal edits to 2015, 2014, 2013 What happens to appeal X-15 edits? Any/All edits pushed to 2013, 2014, 2015 – uh-oh The appeal didn’t even exist in 2015, why push backward What happens to appeal R-13 edits? Any/All edits pushed to 2013, 2014, 2015 – Yay Solution: To only push appeals FORWARD. Don’t push edits backward from AY2016 to anyplace, configure AY2013 to push forward to 2014, 2015, & 2016

Push-Tech Configuration Rules You cannot push backward Example: you cannot push from AY2017 into an older digest year like AY2016 You can only push forward – screen validation will prevent any configuration of attempting to push into an older digest year.

Push-Tech: More Rules Deletes do not push Schedules do not push Duplications do not push Transfer Items do not push Ownership transfer will push if the transfer is performed from the RPGI or PPGI screens. Assessment Notice REASONS assigned in edit year (older year) are not pushed into newer years. Screen Edits DO PUSH The push technology detection is performed by the data entry screen.

Push-Tech Screen detects which data entry fields are changed Push action is invoked with record is saved (Apply / OK) WHEN PUSH-TECH BOX IS CHECKED WHEN ITEM EXISTS … Only field(s) edited by user are pushed automatically and quietly (no screen prompt) to the push years WHEN ITEM DOES NOT EXIST … User is prompted to push entire item into push years with a Yes/No option. User can by-pass all push on the item level by unchecking the PUSH- TECH box prior to saving.

Push-Tech Only the GRADE edit from 0 to 120 will be pushed into the receiving years – there will not be any prompts at all if the item exists in the receiving year

Push-Tech What if I add a new item in a digest year configured to push into a newer year 2017 year is setup to push into 2018, so let’s add a new item and see what happens.

Push-Tech Parcel without any accy items

Push-Tech Click New to start data entry

Push-Tech Barn added and waiting to click apply / ok

Push-Tech Yes = PUSH IT No = DON’T PUSH IT I am going to answer YES

Push-Tech Now go look in 2018 and see if the barn is there.

Push-Tech Now to further illustrate the way push-tech works, I’ll edit the same accy item and it will only push the field edits. First an edit in 2018 to change the IDUNITS from 1 to 4 Now, back to 2017 and we’ll add comments to 2017

Push-Tech Sketch will only push when the sketch is actually edited – but ENTIRE sketch is pushed, not only the single polygon changed (2nd changed to GRF)

Push-Tech: Global v. Appeals Independent push features. County may use either, both or neither. Push-tech does not disable the existing automatic SYNC of new items between live and future. Push-Tech originally intended to push edits beyond the existing LIVE:FUTURE relationships we’ve long had.

Push-Tech User Level Exclusions

Push-Tech Global v. Appeals Sketch Pushing Options / Exclusions User level exclusions Screen level exclusions Field level exclusions Up to 5 different digest years silently receiving pushed data without any human direct data entry

Push-Tech Push-Tech can be very powerful – but also very confusing and taxing Sometimes it’ll just be easier to do your data entry the old fashioned way.
