Dr Vikram Sarabhai. Early Life :- Dr Sarabhai was born on 12 th August 1919 in Ahmadabad Father Ambalal mother Saraladevi. Father was a businessman Vikram was interested in Science. He was sent to a school called "Retreat" ,started by Sarabhai family. Vikram's wife Mrinalini. Kartikeya and Mallika are his children.

Vikram's Education Early education was at “Retreat". He continued college education at Gujarat College Ahmadabad He went to England for higher education at St John College .

Dr Sarabhai's Work. Vikram worked in Indian Institute of Science at Bangalore under Sir C.V. Raman. He worked in the Meteorological Dept at Poona during 1942.

He conducted experiments on cosmic rays He conducted experiments on cosmic rays. He was successful in his efforts. He was awarded Ph. D from Cambridge University in 1947.

Dr Sarabhai's achievement Dr Sarabhai set up a Physical Research Laboratory at Ahmedabad. Dr Sarabhai set up Sarabhai Chemicals at Ahmedabad.

Dr Sarabhai at ISRO Dr Sarabhai constituted ISRO.He was its First Chairman. ISRO head office is at Bengaluru. He set up rocket launching station at Tumba and Sriharikota.

Dr Sarabhai a visionary Dr Sarabhai's dream was to launch Indian built satellite “Aryabhata” came true in April 1975. We remember Aryabhata the first great Indian Mathematician and astronomer.
