Course Description Course Description: This course is designed to assist students in making critical decisions about food, which contributes to health and well-being. Laboratory instruction is included as an application process. Practical problems addressed relate to attitudes toward food, nutrition facts, special health concerns and diets, management of food resources, preparation skills, food safety, sanitation and careers in nutrition and food service.   Leadership development will be provided through the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. Classroom Management In order for each student to feel safe and comfortable in my classroom, a positive and respectful attitude is expected of all students, this includes respecting others’ thoughts, work, feelings, and individuality. If a student does not demonstrate positive behavior, I will visit with him/her and we will try to resolve the issue together. If this proves unsuccessful, students will call their parents at home or work and explain their behavior. The third offense will be disciplinary action with Mr. Jones. Where do I go to find agendas and assignments? If you go to the Rowan County Website, click on schools and go to Rowan County Senior High School Homepage, on the left is a tab that says Teacher Websites, look for my name and click to go to my website.
