Carrie Woodell, President – Central Florida Chapter of NIGP Chris Rewis, President – Mid Florida Chapter of NIGP Chapter Collaboration Central Florida – Mid Florida Chapters “Sister Chapter Relationship”

Development timeline 10/19/2009 – initial email discussing idea 10/20/2009 – request to Jennifer Steffan for examples of other collaborative agreements 10/22/2009 – receipt of copy of Oregon and Columbia chapter’s Inter-chapter Agreement 10/27/2009 – received ok from Jennifer on idea for “sister chapter relationship” 11/17/2009 – sharing of membership rosters 01/04/2010 – development of Sister Chapter Agreement 01/15/2010 – approval of agreement by Mid Florida membership 01/22/2010 – approval of agreement by Central Florida membership 01/22/2010 – President of each chapter becomes honorary member of sister chapter 01/29/2010 – President of each chapter is set up in sister chapter’s database as a member, with access to chapter information Carrie

Initial idea The idea developed from a relationship built between Carrie and Chris through their work with FAPPO (Florida Association of Public Purchasing Officers) Both were President-elect of their respective chapters Discussion ensued with Jennifer Steffan, Chapter Relations Manager, regarding other collaborative efforts Why enter into a “sister chapter relationship”? Would there be cross-over of membership? Our goal really isn’t to “merge” the chapters or completely share membership.  The thought behind it is more of collaboration amongst chapters to allow for shared resources for speakers, reciprocating reverse trade show participation among agencies and assisting in meeting minimum requirements for educational offerings.  We really have no interest in combining the chapters, we just want to work smart and collaborate as much as possible.  If we are able to form some sort of “sister chapter”, it would be just for the purposes of working together to accomplish things beneficial to both chapters.  What would the benefits be? Carrie

Development of Goals Carrie and Chris outlined the reasons for establishing a collaborative agreement Mutual support of educational, charitable, and fund-raising events NIGP courses Reverse trade shows Other events, as developed Mutual advertising of educational and fund-raising events Other events, as developed (regional conference) Chris
