Presentation transcript:

Project 8: Internet of Hospital Things (IoHT): Communication to Facilitate Healing REU Student: Brandon Belna Graduate mentors: Myungho Lee, Kangsoo Kim, Ryan Schubert Faculty Mentor(s): Dr. Greg Welch and Dr. Gerd Bruder Week 4 (June 12 – June 16, 2017) Accomplishments: Read through Windows API programming specifications for Bluetooth. Examined example code for Bluetooth programming, and ported it to Unity. Compiles and deploys fine, whether it works is to be determined. Considered and toyed with moving to a TCP/IP implementation instead of Bluetooth, ultimately decided against it on a meeting with Dr. Welch and Dr. Bruder Wednesday. Implemented a dummy BluetoothCommunicator class in Unity where when gestures are performed in the augmented space, data can be transferred to that class for future transference to Arduinos. Issues/problems encountered and solutions (if any): Personally doubtful Bluetooth code will work as is, will require some modification however there is not a lot of literature on Bluetooth communication using the HoloLens. Plans for next week: Bluetooth shield arriving Monday! Start work on a real BluetoothCommunicator object.
