Anatomy and Physiology Year 10 AADP

What do we look at ??? We will be covering The Skeletal System The Muscular System The Circulatory System The Respiratory System Biomechanics What do we look at ???

The position is: The body erect with the arms at the sides and the palms forward Anatomic terms such as anterior and posterior, medial and lateral, abduction and adduction, and so on apply to the body when it is in the anatomical position. Anatomical Position

Anatomical Terms Superior and Inferior Superior is above the belly button. Inferior is below the belly button. Superior Inferior Anatomical Terms Superior and Inferior

Proximal and Distal Proximal – top half of a bone or the body. Distal – bottom half of a bone or body. Proximal Distal Proximal and Distal

Medial and Lateral Medial – closer to your mid line. Lateral – further away from your midline. Mid Line Medial Lateral Medial and Lateral

Anterior and Posterior Anterior – your front. Posterior – your back. Anterior - Ventral Posterior - Dorsal Anterior and Posterior
