College Visits Take the time to visit college campuses. NJ has some great colleges that are within driving distance. Make a day trip. Visit college websites to see when they offer tours and open houses. DO NOT commit to a college unless you’ve visited.

Types of Decision Plans Admission decisions are made as applications are received. Once the college meets their quota, all other applications will be waitlisted or denied, even if they are submitted before the deadline Submit application early in senior year. Commitment to attend is usually required along with withdrawal of other college applications. A student may apply to only one college under Early Decision Similar to Early Decision, except that if accepted, the applicant is not committed to attend and other applications may be submitted. Essays Communicate your stories. Distinguish yourself from others. Who are you? Express your interest in the major of your choice. English teachers will help with this. Just ask! Common App Essay Questions will be available in August

NCAA Eligibility Eligibilitycenter.org Core Courses Not all high school classes count as NCAA core courses. This simple formula will help you meet the 16 core-course requirement 4x4 = 16 4 English courses (one per year) + 4 math courses (one per year) + 4 science courses (one per year) + 4 social science (and/or additional) courses (one per year) = 16 NCAA core course GPA Test Scores (SAT or ACT)

Holiday Schedule You are here. New Years – Labor Day: Research! Compare and contrast schools. By Halloween: Finalize list of schools using all resources. Check deadlines. Begin applications. By Thanksgiving: Finish applications. Before Winter Break: Submit applications, green sheets to Guidance to ensure they are processed by break. You are here.
