5. Using articles and demonstrative adjectives

Articles and demonstrative adjectives are two special kinds of adjectives that describe a noun or another adjective. A, AN, and THE are articles

A, AN, and THE are articles. Use A before a noun that begins with a consonant Use AN before a noun that begins with a vowel THE refers to a specific person, place or thing. Use THE before a word beginning with a vowel or a consonant.

Use THIS and THAT with singular nouns THIS, THAT, THESE, and THOSE are demonstrative adjective. They tell which one. Use THIS and THAT with singular nouns Use THESE and THOSE with plural nouns.
