Selwyn Home & School Contributions Upcoming Events: Grade 5 Graduation: H&S is providing a cake, set up of the donated refreshments, decorations for the gym, and signature t-shirts to all grade 5 graduates. June 16th Home & School and SAC general meeting Home & School 2015-2016 Fundraising and Events Calendar Planning Session (will be posted on blog) Selwyn Home & School Contributions New globes for every Selwyn classroom Seasonal Welcome to Selwyn, decorated front urns Provided marketing support within Selwyn and FREE childcare for those wishing to attend SAC’s Dr. Marion Small’s Math Night, How Can I Help My Child With Math ? Our Holiday Bake Sale was a delicious success! We raised $606, all of which was used to fund our Holiday Hamper program. We also received $300 from a corporate sponsor. We were able to support six deserving families within our Selwyn community. We offered our teachers $1600.00 for field trips outside of the school and/or special presentations in-class. ($160 per classroom) Our Polar Bear Picnic was a lot of fun! The entire school learned interesting facts about Polar Bears and we raised $200 for field trips. 2 UP 2 DOWN for Polar Bears thermostat challenge! Our community is helping to protect polar bears and their Arctic sea ice habitat. 35 Selwyn families committed to move their thermostats down by 2 degrees, and Ms. Remisch’s entire Grade 1-2 class all Bundled Up for Polar Bears on International Polar Bear Day. Way to go Selwyn! Selwyn Staff Appreciation Week was a lot of fun. The students did a beautiful job on their “With heartfelt thanks…” crafts. The fresh flowers and homemade baked treats in the staff room were very popular. Family Craft Night & Bake Sale we continued our focus on endangered species with Leatherback Sea Turtles, Spotted Owls, Wolves & Great White Shark crafts. We raised $680 which went towards the Staff Wish List and Grade 5 Grad signature t-shirts. Bountiful Classroom Raffle Baskets along side Generous Sponsor Raffle and Silent Auction Items raised $1090 for Math and Science manipulatives! 50 Surprise Bags were opened, Surprise! More than 1600 Fabulous Prizes were won! 4200 general tickets were sold Total Funds Raised $6,012!
