From Birth through higher education November 17 1913 French Algeria Father called back to war and killed october 11 1914 Moved to Algeirs with Brother and Mother to live with Uncle and Grandmother in poverty stricken apartment; mom worked at ammunition factory Attended Elementary school nearby apartment and got scholarship to highschool

In secondary school he became an avid reader and interested in soccer also got first TB attack Got Bach. Degree in June 1932 and by that time had been submitting articles to a literary Magazine From 1933-37 he got his PHD in philosophy with sociology and psychology certificates Lived as Author for next decade and by 1940 he was world renowned philosopher

Spiritual history and point-of-view Raised Catholic Never notably faithful No belief in the supernatural Christian literature and philosophy influenced him in his early career despite this Point of View We are essentially solitary in life and death Hope and despair are pointless emotions Joy and despair are intertwined Believes suicide is cowardly

Ethical point-of-view He denied being an existentialist and defended his points by using current events (Spanish War and the Revolt of Algeria) Camus stood on his moral and political reasonings of reality. Suicide He believed that suicide was not an option. He said only courageous people continued to live even when things get rough. Camus regarded existentialism as a whole because he said you had to be committed to study all of it. Not just bits and pieces. He was unwilling to do this. He also believed in common human nature by major topics of dignity and value based on human tradition. He
