Presentation of new INERTIA partner: ETC Dan-Eric Archer Gibran Vita

Overview of ETC ETC (Elhanteln i Stockholm AB) Newly started member of the ETC group 1200 customers, growing with 100 per month 100% renewables, prioritizing PV Profit is invested in PV installations 170 prosumers in portfolio

ETC Group ETC Group EL Produktion AB Generation: Utility -820 kW Solar PV -18 kW micro-wind Utility Inertia Partner Newspaper and other publications in Sweden since the 70s. Equipment (PV,Wind) “Climate-Smart” Products DG Installations Consultancy

ETC & Partners EL Produktion AB

ETC Assets/Portfolio Real market data on supply chain, consumption patterns, consumer behavior and electricity demand. Access to Local Hubs with potential to test, implement and market INERTIA components Knowledge and Experience from development of Low-cost smart meters for Prosumers Sites for testing new DG equipment; PV, micro-wind and micro-CHP

ETC team for INERTIA Johan Ehrenberg Dan-Eric Archer CEO of ETC Group Entrepreneur in Renewable DG Influence in Swedish Energy Politics B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering M.Sc. Sustainable Energy Systems Gibran Vita Ahmed Hussain B.Sc. Telecommunication Engineering M.Sc. Radio & Space Science Ph.D. Communication, Information, and Antenna* B.Sc. Chemical Engineering M.Sc. Industrial Ecology

ETC Added Value First hand experience in electricty trading/ prosumer portfolio management i.e. identify operational needs, market opportunities or critical situations related to DSM strategies. A business perspective: How will the smart grid Aggregator make/share profit along the value chain profit? Potential Living Labs in Nothern Europe (Brf. Örnen, Timrå) DG modeling tools (Chalmers University of Technology) Dissemination of Results (newspaper, magazines)

ETC perspective Climate in Sweden Space heating (60%), Electricty (20%), Hot Tap Water (20%) Good Biomass availability, micro-CHP are interesting. Small solar potential in winter/seasonal complementary generation

Involvement in Tasks The flexibility related indicators stand in the middle of the holistic framework in order to set the rules and constrains of the INERTIA Business Scenarios. Aggregator: The Aggregator, within the INERTIA framework, will be responsible to manage the prosumer portfolio in an optimized way, trading with the market stakeholders on behalf of small customers. Aggregators gather, analyse and efficiently organize their customer loads portfolio and define specific Active Demand (AD) strategies and respective services based on market needs, acting as an intermediary between suppliers & network operators and the different Commercial & Industrial prosumers belonging to their portfolios. In addition, Aggregators (vertical subsidiaries or subcontractors of DSOs), in cooperation with network operators, will be able to manage network situations where Demand Response actions would be required or could potentially prove beneficial (under specific business scenarios e.g. wholesale/reserve or balancing market, ancillary services etc.). Furthermore, Aggregators will be able to identify specific operational needs, market opportunities or critical situations and deploy the appropriate Demand Side Management strategies (demand side management services for grid relief on specific locations and for specified time periods).
