English 7 - Day 3 Sept. 1, 2017

Happy Friday! HW: Make sure to finish any last minute summer reading. We will be work with your books next week!

What are some of the differences between texts and emails? Turn & Talk What are some of the differences between texts and emails?

Texts vs. Emails - What’s the difference? Emails are: Formal Include a greeting and closing Use correct spelling and punctuation Written like a letter Polite & courteous For friends, teachers, colleagues, bosses, etc. Longer than texts! Texts are: Informal To a friend or close acquaintance Short, quick, & easy

How can we improve this “email” below? hey can u tell me where i can find the hw? its not coming up on my google classroom

Let’s Try that Again! Dear Mr. Walkowicz, I hope you are having a good day. I was wondering if you could tell me how to find tonight’s homework assignment. I don’t see it on my google classroom when I open up the app. Can you please tell me how to find it? Thank you so much! Sincerely, Marvin

Your Turn: Email your advisory teacher! Your email MUST be in a professional format (greeting, intro, closing, etc). In your email, you need to: Describe your FAVORITE day or memory from the summer! Be specific! → Consider: Where were you? What were you doing? Who was with you? 2. Tell your advisory teacher ONE strength you have and ONE thing you would like to improve this year!
