KICKS FROM THE PENALTY SPOT: a procedure to determinate the winner of a match Taking kicks from the penalty mark is a method of determining the winning team where competition rules require there to be a winning team after a match has been drawn.

First minute after the end of the match REFEREES´ TEAM WORK First minute after the end of the match As soon as the match finishes, the teams have got 1 minute to rest. The teams must stay in the pitch. They are not allowed to go to the changing rooms. Assitant Referee 3 indicates the substitute players to go inside the pitch. Every team official is allowed to go inside the pitch during that 1 free minute. Referee and LOC decides in which goal will be taken the kicks.

Second minute after the end of the match REFEREES´ TEAM WORK Second minute after the end of the match Referee calls both captains and tosses the coin. The winner of the toss decides to start kicking or defending. Assitant Referee 3 indicates both teams to stand up in the middle line of the pitch. Assistant referee 3 checks that both teams have got the same number of players in conditions to kick. Excluded players, substitute goalkeepers and team officials must stay in their own benches.

Position before starting the penalty kicks

During the penalty kicks: Referee and Assistant Referee 3 must take notes of the numbers of the players who are kicking. The guides walk with the kicker player to the penalty spot and back to the middle line. The goalkeeper of the kicking team remains in front of the sideboard, opposite to the Referee.

During the penalty kicks: Referee and Assistant Referee 3 must check the eye patches and the uniform of every player just before they kick from the penalty spot. While a player is kicking, Assistant Referee 3 must call the next player of the opposite team to the center circle and check him/ her, so as soon as a player kicks, the opponent player starts walking with his/ her guide to the 6 meter penalty spot.

During the penalty kicks:

Good luck and enjoy the matches!
