Use of Funds Funds may be used: Funds may NOT be used: to provide individual student supports for academics, social living, and independent living to support building an infrastructure such as - personnel costs Funds may NOT be used: to provide financial assistance for students tuition, books, or institutional fees Individual supports: mentors, tutors, travel training
Program Requirements The Application must indicate how a comprehensive inclusive transition and postsecondary education program (IPSE) will be established or enhanced for students with intellectual disabilities
Program Requirements Serve students with intellectual disabilities; Provide individual supports and services; Focus on academic and social integration that lead to gainful employment; Integrate Person- Centered Planning; Participate with the Coordinating Center - (project evaluation/technical assistance activities); Partner with LEA to address IDEA eligible students; Plan for sustainability; and Offer a meaningful credential.
Not lunch with the regular kids College Academics Students with intellectual disabilities participate on not less than a half-time basis, focusing on academics through the any combination of: regular enrollment in credit-bearing courses with nondisabled students offered by the institution, auditing or participating in courses with nondisabled students offered by the institution for which the student does not receive regular academic credit, enrollment in noncredit-bearing, non-degree courses with nondisabled students, and/or participation in internships or work-based training in settings with nondisabled individuals. Goal : A CTP Program The term “comprehensive transition and postsecondary program” (section 760(1) of the HEA) means, a program which: is a degree, certificate, or non-degree program offered by an institution of higher education. is designed to support students with intellectual disabilities seeking to continue academic, career and technical, and independent living instruction to prepare for gainful employment. includes an advising and curriculum structure. requires students with intellectual disabilities to participate on not less than a half-time focusing on academics requires students with intellectual disabilities to be socially and academically integrated with non-disabled students to the maximum extent possible.
