Suggested Home Learning activities Year 2 class news at Ysgol y Ddraig Week Ending: Friday 26th May 2017 This week… We had a fantastic time at the National Botanic Gardens on Wednesday. We took part in a minibeast hunt, created model hedgehogs and made a drey for a squirrel. We also went to inside the tropical dome and the butterfly house. The weather was glorious and the children were a credit to the school- well done everyone! Back at school we created a picture map showing what we did and then wrote a recount of our trip. We took part in our second Kerbcraft road safety session and remembered the rules to “Stop, look, listen, think!” In maths we have practiced rounding 2 and 3 digit numbers to the nearest multiple of ten. We have solved division problems and some of us were able to work out answers leaving a remainder. We have also practised adding amounts of money and calculating change. In RE we learned about traditions of Christian weddings and designed our own wedding cakes. Reminders/Information Half Term holiday– We hope the fine weather continues and the children enjoy a lovely half term break next week. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in school on Monday 5th June. Home Reading Books - Please can the children bring their reading book in everyday. PE This term PE will be on Tuesday. Please can children have PE kit including suitable footwear for outdoor games. Fruit snack – Children are welcome to either bring their own snack or buy snack from our tuck shop at a cost of 20p per day/£1 a week
