INTRODUCTION

usually, smart class uses 3D animated modules and videos for concept teaching. But our smart class is totally different from its method and strategies. We have proposed to use modern technology and our traditional educational practices in the class.

OBJECTIVES OF SMART CLASS

To increase self learning Smart class helps the children To develop their life skills To develop their individual talents To increase their understanding capacity to introduce indigenous techniques and knowledge To stimulate children’s thinking power To increase self learning

ELEVEN ACTIVITY TABLES

TRADITIONAL GAMES

We have created a corner for learning traditional games Like, PALLANGUZHI, PARAMAPATHAM, AADUPULI AATTAM, THATTANGAL , THAAYAM.

FUN WITH MATHS

We have created a corner for funny mathematics like, PUZZLES, ARRANGEMENT GAMES, MATCHING UP GAMES.

MAGICAL SCIENCE

We created a corner to give an opportunity for Making the sense of exploring through magical Science activities . Each activity is unique and Magical.

INDOOR GAMES

We created a corner for learning indoor games like, CHESS , CARROM BOARD AND CHINESE CHECKER.

DISCUSSION CORNER

We created a corner for group discussion . Themes are selected based on some current Social aspects like, pollution, environment etc.

DIGITAL WORLD

We created a corner for learning computer. This section Involves the children in learning basics and ms office.

VIDEO LIBRARY

We created a corner for learning through CD’S CD’S were prepared in many topics such as SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS, MORAL STORIES, CRAFT WORKS, CLAY WORKS ,HEALTH AND HYGIENE.

MUSICAL CORNER

We created a corner for learning music. Songs are based on DEVOTIONAL, PATRIOTIC, FOLK AND NATURE.

LANGUAGE GAMES

we created a corner for learning language. This section provides such skills as follows; VOCABULARY DEVELOPMENT, ACCURACY IN SPELLING

PLAY WITH TOYS

We created a corner for playing colorful toys. It consists of various types of BUILDING BLOCKS CONCEPT BASED PUZZLES.

ART AND CRAFT

We created a corner for creativity, brain development, Mastery, and self - esteem . This section provides proper Exposure in PAINTING, DRAWING, COLLAGE WORK, PAPER TRICKS.

METHOD OF FUNCTIONING

In the beginning of the class itself the students will be divided into 11 groups for 11 activity tables. As per the circuit method each group will occupy on table and after 20 minutes every group will change tables and continue to do the activities. The student will spend the entire day in the smart class to complete the activities presented in all the 11 tables. Teachers prepare activities and display in each section monthly once for the students of fourth and fifth standard.

conclusion

smart class provides the children a completely different environment which makes them efficient not only by means of subject knowledge but also practical knowledge according to the changing context.
