Hello from members of the project team (class 2M) Janja, Jana, Katja, Anže, Andraž, Dominik, Marko, Martin…
World WETLAND protection day (2nd February)
What are wetlands? These are areas that are regularly sufficiently flooded by water, above or below surface to allow the population of flora and fauna that need a wet environment to exist.
Wetlands are natural environment for endangered species (an example The Isonzo Wetland Nature Reserve conservation park in Friuli, Italy)
Such areas have a very high biodiversity and some of the most productive ecosystems in the world.
Wetlands in our area - Gorenjska Zelenci - water source of the river Sava Dolinka.
Šobec – a place for observing nature and relaxation.
Koseški bajer – nice surrounding and good cooling effect in the summer.
The school pond – BC Naklo – is a perfect place for some hands-on studies
Our school pond is important also for studying and relaxation.
The term “wetland” refers to a biotope that is between aquatic and land ecosystem
Students at BC Naklo learn about the rich vegetation which help to clean the water in the school pond (and also in the nature).
Our responsibility is to raise public awareness about the importance and value of wetlands (different activities, photo exhibitions, excursions,…) .
Thank you for your attention
