Aim: What is the difference between renewable and nonrenewable resources?

Non-Renewable Resources Finite = limited Cannot be replenished by natural processes. Once we use them, they're gone FOREVER.

What are some examples of nonrenewable resources? Fossil Fuels- from the remains of organisms that lived millions of years ago Coal Oil Natural gas

What will happen in the future if we keep on using our non-renewable resources? We will run out of them because there is a finite amount of them. Once they are gone, they’re gone.

Renewable Resources Replaceable Items that will keep coming back as long as we treat them properly. Ex. when we cut down trees for paper, we can replant new trees & get more paper.

What will happen in the future if we use our renewable resources without replacing them? If they are not replaced as fast as they are used we will run out of them.

Alternative Energy Sources: Hydroelectricity Wind Power Solar Energy Nuclear Energy

Energy Conservation: We need to conserve energy by reducing our usage of everyday products we have come to rely on. Ex: Turn off lights when not in use, Carpooling, Use fan instead of air conditioner, etc…
