CALL TO ADVENTURE Your hero is asked to take on some important role or adventure. e.g. In Lord of the Rings, Frodo must leave the shire and bring the ring to the burning fires of Mount Doom Bella falls in love with a vampire Shrek must find Princess Fiona

Crossing the threshold All heroes and heroines need help from people or something magic. Frodo has his friends: Samwise, Pippin, Merry, Gandalf, Aragon, Legolas and Gimeley. Cinderella has her fairy god-mother Dorothy has Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion. Potter has the Invisible Cloak, his wand etc

Sometimes the hero finds it hard to take on the adventure Sometimes the hero finds it hard to take on the adventure. They might need convincing. Shrek needs a lot of urging to get him going on the journey to find Princess Fiona Something must give the hero a push to make the move
