Presentation transcript:

Friday Briefing 23.09.16 Topic: This week as part of our topic we have been doing activities around the story of the ‘Three little pigs’. The children have had the opportunity to make finger puppets; houses out of junk modelling materials and use the prompts in the role play area to retell the story. We also had our first P.E. lesson! Phonics: At the beginning of the week we continued listening to and identifying sounds. As the week progressed we moved on to phase 2 phonics and introduced the sounds ‘s’ and ‘a’. Maths: This week we introduced the children to the ‘Days of the Week’ song and the ‘Months of the Year’ song. We have also practised counting, checking for one to one correspondence. Learning Logs will be sent out every Thursday and we ask that you return them each Tuesday. All the children should have received their first reading book this week. You will notice that there are two days written on the front cover. On the first of those days, we will listen to the children read in school. On the second of the days, we will change their reading book for a new one. Please could we ask that you wait for a member of staff to open the gates at home time. Please could we ask that parents don’t go into the children’s toilets, for health and safety reasons.
