RAG Week https://www.essexstudent.com/rag/ Kicking off Monday 21st November, R.A.G. Week, better known as Raising and Giving Week is basically your chance to do something fun for a very good cause. Whether that’s some friendly rival between sports clubs and societies, or cutting all your hair off? (We wouldn’t recommend this one without some serious thought though). The main aim is to raise as much money as we can for as many charities as possible. There'll be loads of events happening on campus as well as the option to take part in raids (collections) in the local area. All our clubs and societies are encouraged do some form of fundraising throughout the year and RAG allows them to do this. While raising money for worthwhile causes is the core objective, we want to make sure you are having as much fun as possible in the process. Launched last year, there will also be a friendly fundraising competition between the Societies Guild and Essex Blades Sports Federation, we will be keeping tabs on how much both fundraise and the winning team will be awarded the R.A.G. Trophy. FOOD DONATIONS TUESDAY 10-5PM - SQUARE 3 A day where we encourage people to donate non-perishable food to be given to those less fortunate than ourselves. SANITARY PRODUCT DONATIONS FRIDAY 10-5PM - SQUARE 3/SU RECEPTION A day encouraging people to donate women’s essential sanitary products that are not easily accessible/affordable for women who are homeless/in poverty.
