Farnham School PBIS Presentation to Cambrian School Board By Jocelyn Garcia-Thome November 19, 2015

LCAP/SPSA School Goal #3 Farnham School will be an orderly and purposeful environment in which students and staff feel safe and free to learn and work. Farnham Elementary School will sustain consistent, school-wide implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) to maintain a positive school culture, foster an inclusive environment that ensures appropriate behavior for all students and builds an effective learning environment. Additionally, we will continue to maintain a positive school climate and create opportunities for students to demonstrate good citizenship and be lifelong learners.

Action Steps Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) plan Monitor attendance and discipline Offer a variety of club offerings and enrichment activities Provide services to meet the emotional, behavioral and mental health needs of students Implement and analyze the Student Healthy Kids survey in Grade 5 (spring 2016)

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Outcomes -- academic and behavior targets that are endorsed and emphasized by students, families and educators (Farnham ABCs and Life Skills) Practices – evidence-based interventions and strategies (“how” we reach our goals -- teaching and practicing routines and procedures, student recognition through Falcon Feathers, Student of the Week, Staff of the Week, etc.) Data – information we gather that helps us identify areas of needed change and/or the effects of interventions, and finally, Systems that can be implemented that are sustainable over the long-haul -- supports that enable the accurate and durable implementation of the PBIS

If you want it, teach it. Teach where you want it If you want it, teach it. Teach where you want it. If you want to see it, look for it. If you see it, recognize and reward it. -- Dale R. Myers
