Undergraduate Program: Undergraduate Admissions Degree- Seeking Student Students who plan to seek a degree or complete the requirements for a pre-professional program. First-Time Freshman Regular Freshman Admission Alternative Freshman Admission Transfer Admission Re-admission There are 3 different categories of degree-seeking students. As an advisor, it is important to know and understand the different categories while reviewing these options with potential students.

Undergraduate Program: Undergraduate Admissions Non-Degree Seeking Student Students who do not plan to earn a degree or complete the requirements for a pre-professional program. Concurrent High School Admission Transient Admission Self-Improvement Admission Audit Admission International Student Admission An international student is defined as any student attending Wayland on an F-1 Student Visa issued by the United States government. There are also four different categories of non-degree seeking students. Again it is important to know the differences between categories and be able to identify what category suits your applicant best. International students have a specific set of requirements to meet in order to be accepted to the University. Questions concerning international students should be directed to our International Liaison at the Plainview campus.

Undergraduate Program: Tuition and Fees Tuition Plainview Campus Tuition External Campus Tuition Virtual Campus Tuition Fees All Campuses Fees Plainview Campus Fees Course Fees Graduation Fees There are different tuition levels for Plainview, External, and Virtual Campus students. Fees are also different for the varying campuses. Be aware of these differences and make certain that the correct tuition and fees are being charged to your students.

Undergraduate Program: Tuition and Fees Payment of Account The payment of a student’s account for each semester is due by the first day of class. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that their financial obligations have been met. Also, it is the student’s responsibility to make sure that their account includes the correct address and cell phone number where they can be reached. Payments can be made by cash, check, or bank credit card. Students can make their payments in person, over the phone, or through their Student Services Account. The university offers an installment option for semester expenses. It requires a minimum of 1/3 payment of expenses by the first day of class. The second payment is due thirty days after the first day of the term and the final payment is due sixty days after the first day of the term or prior to registration for the next term. If financial aid is not guaranteed at registration ,funds cannot be calculated at that time. Adjustments can be made once aid is guaranteed. Students who fail to follow the payment plan as outlined above will incur a fee of $50 or each late payment. A student’s account must be paid in full before the student may register for the new term. Academic transcripts and diplomas are issued only for the student whose account is paid in full. It is the ultimate responsibility of the student to ensure that their student account is paid in full by the end of each term. Student’s with a balance at the end of the term will NOT be able to register for the following term. Students have a variety of payment options for their tuition. They may pay their balance in full, scholarships, financial aid, or the payment plan.

Undergraduate Program: Tuition and Fees Refunds Refunds are based upon the number of weeks a course has been in session. A week is defined as the number of contact class hours in a term divided by the number of weeks in a regular length term. Applicable refunds are calculated by the date of submission of an official withdrawal form. The University’s refund policy is precise and is based upon the number of days within the term. As an advisor, you should know the refund policy, know its whereabouts in the catalog, and make certain that your students are aware of it.

Undergraduate Program: Tuition and Fees Tuition Refund Schedule 100% of tuition will be refunded when a student drops the course prior to 1st class meeting 75% of tuition will be refunded when a student drops the course 1-10 days after 1st class meeting for terms 16 weeks in length; 1-4 days after 1st class meeting for terms 10 weeks or longer in length; Before second week of online classes 25% of tuition will be refunded when a student drops the course 11-20 days after 1st class meeting for terms 16 weeks in length; 5-12 days after 1st class meeting for terms 10 weeks or longer in length; Before the third week of online classes 0% of tuition will be refunded when a student drops the course 21 days after 1st class meeting for terms 16 weeks in length; 13 days after 1st class meeting for terms 10 weeks or longer in length; Beyond the third week of online classes This is an outline of the refund schedule. Note that there is a different schedule between classes of a 16-week duration and those of a 10 week duration.

Undergraduate Program: Tuition and Fees Medical Exigency Withdrawal A student who, during an academic term, has a serious illness or suffers an injury that requires the student to miss 25% or more of the term may elect to apply for a medical exigency withdrawal from the university. Military TDY A student who, during an academic term, receives an unrequested military TDY, temporary duty assignment, that requires the student to miss 25% or more of the term, may elect to apply for a military TDY withdrawal from the university. Medical emergencies and unexpected Military commitments are both reasons for contingencies within the refund policy. With proper documentation, students may be allowed to “drop” their course load without penalty.

Undergraduate Program: Financial Aid General Policies to Assist Students Request a Personal Identification Number (PIN) go online to www.pin.ed.gov Complete, Sign and Submit FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov Complete application forms accurately, providing correct information; submit forms in a timely manner. Understand and comply with deadlines for application and reapplication for aid. Read and understand all forms signed and keep copies of the forms. Fulfill the terms of all agreements signed. Understand Wayland refund procedures if enrollment ceases before a term ends or a punitive grade is assigned. Report any changes in personal information, name, address, and telephone number. Be responsible for using their Wayland email address for all communications with financial aid. Here is a list of helpful steps a student can take in managing their financial aid.

Undergraduate Program: Financial Aid Additional Training The Financial Aid office at the Plainview campus is the central point of coordination and notification for all student financial aid, including those scholarships and grants administered by the schools, offices, and organizations of the university. All external campuses are assigned a lead Financial Aid coordinator at the Plainview campus. This coordinator will work with the appointed Financial Aid employee at each individual external campus. Training should be sought through the Financial Aid office in Plainview. Contact 806-291-3520 for additional training. All employees that work with financial aid will work directly with the Plainview campus. Any financial aid questions or concerns should be directed there.

Over view of Student Activities Traditional annual activities, campus organizations, governmental organizations, institutional organizations, National Honor Societies, Greek Council, ROTC, Scholarships, Extracurricular Organizations, Sporting Activities. Services Available at External Campuses Most of the student services offered are available to students attending the main campus. The services offered at the External Campuses vary according to location.
