Class 1 Spring Term 2017 What is it made of? Happy New Year! Welcome back! I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas break. We are about to begin another busy term full of exciting learning. Our new topic for this half term is ‘What is it made of?’ During this topic the children will be learning about materials and their properties. They will be investigating why different materials are used for certain purposes and using some of these materials to build their own houses. Our stunning start ‘Recycling Day’ will be taking place on Thursday 5th January and will be an opportunity for the children to learn about the importance of recycling. Any unwanted materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic and fabric/clothes would be gratefully received for the children to use on this day. Our PE days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please ensure your child has a full PE kit, including plimsolls or trainers, in school on both of these days. Mrs Rossiter and I will listen to the children read at least once a week but as always we would ask that you read with your child at home as often as you can.
