The Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County On November 2, 2005, The Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County was created as a component fund of the Community Foundation.

Purpose “…to provide opportunities for donors to promote and support programs that enable and empower women in challenging situations to improve the quality of their lives and the lives of those for whom they are responsible.” 

Each gift is split between two funds: 20% to quasi-endowment and 80% to pass through Pass through fund is spent in its entirety each year. Permanent fund spends 5% each year.

Membership Members commit to a minimum of $1,000 per year for three years for a total of $3,000. Junior members may join for $500 per year.

Recognition Total Over Three Years: Sapphire $3,000 Emerald $3,001 - $4,999 Diamond $5,000 - $9,999 Pink Diamond $10,000 - $19,999 Red Diamond $20,000 or more

What others have to say… The Women's Giving Circle of Frederick County’s success is often referenced throughout the State in discussions about giving circles. The Women's Giving Circle of Frederick County’s statistics are on the upper tier of giving circle statistics (not just women’s giving circles, but all giving circles) throughout the State.

What the Community Foundation has to say… Internal systems to notify Women's Giving Circle leadership of contributions and for tracking seem to be working well.  The Grants Committee was on task and made solid decisions It’s a delight to work with all of you! Your accomplishments are impressive!!
