Italy March Meeting March 9th, 2016

Principal Adam Bunting

Phone tree Put in your contact information on the phone. Review your location on the tree. Please let us know of your travel plans. Keep us posted on any changes. Final tree will be on Moodle, sent home via email and at our final meeting.

Final Payments Final payment to CVU due tonight (covers transportation, museum entrance, and tips to guides).

Communication Home / Moodle We will try to communicate via email as much as needed (saving the phone tree for emergencies) Moodle News! Phones/Internet on trip discussion.

Spending Money EF recommends $40-$60 a day. The current exchange rate is 1€ = $1.10, so a 20€ lunch = $21.96 Travelers in Italy for 9 days. So calculate spending money according to days in Italy. Day 1 and Day 11 are traveling days. These days they may want some US currency. What will students be buying: Lunch Snacks (gelato) and water Souvenirs

Bank Notification No Travelers’ Checks Debit/ATM cards are the best Please inform your banking institution that the traveler will be abroad for the duration of our trip! You can get euros out ahead of time (banks will need time to do this – so plan ahead). Remember to get a pin for cards with the chip.

Food abroad Vegetarians – always options on the plane and for dinner! Typical Breakfast: cereal, roll or bread, jam, juice, coffee, tea (sometimes yogurt). Lunch on our own. Dinner: local specialties – lots of pasta, some meat (for those that eat it), and a vegetable. Snacks are on our own – SO think about packing granola or power bars to munch on during the day. This will help save your wallet!

What does the rooming look like for this trip? Do I get to room with someone I know?

Medicine On the trip Dramamine Pepto Bismol chewable tablets Tums Advil Tylenol Anti-diarrheal (immodium or Loperamide) Hydrocortisone cream Benadryl cream Benadryl pills Bacitracin ointment Ace bandages (2’’and 3’’) Instant ice packs Bandaids Gloves Heat patches (Salonpas) Gauze pads-2x2, 4x4 Tampons, pads Safety pins Duct tape Adhesive tape Most importantly some common sense and sense of humor
