Overview Current Status Traffic restrictions to move heavy load components inside the City of Antofagasta. Inadequate capacity to meet current & future shop sales forecast (existing shop is land locked). Existing operational configuration consists of three scattered satellite operations resulting in inefficiencies. Current facilities cannot support corporate Operational Excellence initiatives, new procedures and technology.

Overview Future Challenges Mining equipment demand and after market (AM) support will continue growing in the region. Estimated additional 140 employees will be required in the next 5 years in order to meet demand. Investment in new equipment and technology (US$ 5M estimated). Continuous R+D development through equipment upgrades and services improvements. Incorporate new services and shop work to expand AM support. Environmental requirements.

InvestChile CORFO subsidy through their “Programa de Promoción y Atracción de Inversiones de Alta Tecnología” includes financing for: Operational go live support. Human resources training plan. High technology equipment. Highly specialized training program. Bienes Nacionales Awarded MinePro 57.000 sqm in the La Negra sector at competitive cost.

Project Scope Phase I – Shop Relocation Develop a 7,500 sq. m. (81,000 sq. ft) purpose built facility in La Negra consisting of: Welding Rebuild Operations Electric Motor Repair & Rebuild Mechanical Repair & Rebuild Relocate existing 3,700 sq. m. Antofagasta rebuild facility and existing 5,000 sq. m. La Negra leased open air operations into new La Negra facility by the end of 2011. Phase II – Logistic/Administration Offices Relocation Construct a 4,100 sq. m. (44,000 sq. ft) addition onto Phase I to relocate existent: Warehouse Operations Administration Offices Planned for 2013.

Existing Operations There are three separate operational sites: Antofagasta welding, mechanical & electrical (3,800 sq. m.). Antofagasta warehouse and office operations (3,386 sq. m.). La Negra welding operations (5,000 sq. m.).

La Negra Project Escondida Zaldivar Highway 5 Chuqicamata Spence Tesoro RT El Abra Lomas Bayas La Negra site is located 30 km (19 miles) closer to the mines than the existing facility. The site is located on Hwy 5 which bypasses Antofagasta. This location accommodates the customer requirement to service large structure rebuilds.

La Negra Project Other mining related companies in the La Negra sector: Finning Altonor Inacesa Chilean Lithiun Society Thyssenkrupp Ingemix Hidromec Emeser Incopesa Flender Electro Flores Tecma PTT CIMM T&S Conveyor MSH Located in an industrial area that services the mining industry. Vendors and support business already established in area. Due to air borne particles in the area, an atmospheric environmental analysis was completed. Analysis results indicates the site is viable with incorporating specific design parameters.

La Negra Project 7,500 sq. m. facility in Phase I to handle the 5 year forecasted work load. Process equipment placement to maximize process flow efficiencies consistent with the Operational Excellence initiatives. Crane hook and space envelopes to maximize safety and quality efficiencies. New automated equipment to maximize efficiencies. Building features such as special ventilation improves working environment while increasing productivity. Safety is a primary consideration in the facility design. Note: site configuration has changed according to the sites we finally bid for.
