. . . And The Spread of Organic Food

Eataly…and the spread of organic foods In the last few years, the consumption of organic foods increased exponentially, influencing the entire world’s food market. In fact, not only it caused a change in food preferences, but it also had consequences on the agricultural sector of many countries. Moreover, this new trend caused also the birth of a new kind of supermarket: the so-called «bio- markets». Let’s explore this new market further!

What does «organic» means? The term “organic” refers to the way agricultural products are grown and processed. While the regulations vary from country to country, in the U.S., organic crops must be grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, bioengineered genes (GMOs), petroleum-based fertilizers, and sewage sludge-based fertilizers. Eataly The most famous bio- market in Italy is Eataly. The name is a fusion of the words «eat» and «Italy», representative of their mission: offering to their clients products and restaurants completely made in Italy and assuring high quality.
