So what is a living thing? Anything that possesses all of the characteristics of life is called an organism. The characteristics of life are as follows:
CHARACTERISTICS OF LIFE,. CHARACTERISTICS OF LIFE Organism – anything that has all of the characteristics of life. Living things are made of one or more.
Characteristics of Living Things It grows, it moves, it reproduces Is it alive?
Characteristics of Life Notes. All living things have some characteristics in common; we call these the characteristics of life. If any living thing doesn’t.
 Living things are biological structures that respond to changes in the environment or within their own entities.

1. Organism and Species An organism is any living thing and a species is a group of organisms that can interbreed and reproduce offspring.

2. Living and Nonliving grow Nonliving things grow by adding more of the same matter it is made of. Living things grow by adding more cells.

3. Mrs. Smith experiment A. Group B Because you know it will grow a little because it doesn't get the chemical

Because you can manipulate it and add the amount you want 3. Mrs. Smith experiment B the special chemical Because you can manipulate it and add the amount you want

C. The growth of the plant 3. Mrs. Smith experiment C. The growth of the plant Because the amount depends whether you use the special chemical or not and you cant control/manipulate it

3. Mrs. Smith experiment D. Based on the amount of growth, Mrs. Smith can conclude that the chemical helped increase the growth of the plant.
