KfK: Financial Viability of Nuclear Phase-out October 14th, 2015: Implementation of Commission by Federal Government Review the financial viability of the nuclear phase-out in Germany Representatives of politics, science, churches, workers unions, NGOs (no industry representatives) April 27th, 2016: Submittal of report with recommendations Transfer to Government of responsibility and financial means (incl. risk premium (3)) for storage, conditioning, and transport to disposal facility (1) Transfer to Government of financial means (incl. risk premium (3)) for disposal facility (2) Transfer of governmental financial means into a fund under public law Responsibility for safe decommission and packaging stays with industry with unlimited liability (4) Closure of gap (5) during remaining lifetime Direct decommissioning as only option Waiving of industry‘s lawsuits Provisions: 38.3 bn € 1: 4.7 bn € 2: 12.5 bn € 3: 6.1 bn € 4: 19.7 bn € 5: Current gap: 4.7 bn €
