. ……………………………………………………………. …………………………………………………………………………… ……………………………… Assignments and Grading Math: DMR (Daily Math Reviews) This is a sheet of paper that students will be given on Mondays On this sheet, there will be a section for each day of the week with about 3-4 math problems that students will be required to complete at the beginning of class every day. These will be review and fluency problems. Friday’s will always be a task. We will go over these every day after students work on them on their own for about 5 minutes. I will take these up every Friday for a grade. There is no reason students shouldn’t do well on these since we will go over them together. I will keep these in the classroom and pass them back out each day so students won’t loose their work. DMR’s will count at 10% of the students’ overall grade. Math Mania This is a homework packet that will consist of a variety of math problems on current material that we will be covering in class. They will be given on Monday’s and are to be turned in on the following Monday. Math Mania’s will count as 10% of the students’ overall grade. Summative Assessments & Projects At the end of each IB unit, students will take a summative assessment and/or complete an assigned project. These exams and projects will count as 80% of the students grade. Students will be provided with a grading rubric for projects. Also, Students will have the opportunity to take up to 2 retakes on summative assessments. *All DMR’s and Math Mania’s will be posted on the Weebly webiste so students are able to access an extra copy if they happen to loose the original copy they receive in class. Science: Assorted Activities Throughout the class students will complete a variety of small activities for which they will receive a grade.  These activities may grow out of class discussions, content or other areas as the opportunity arises. These activities will count as 20% of the students’ overall science grade. Summative Assessments & Projects  Again, at the end of each unit, students will complete a project and/or a summative assessment to show mastery and growth. The retake policy stands for science as well. Also, there will be a grading rubric provided for any projects. These exams and projects will count as 80% of students’ overall science grade. *All science projects and experiments will be done in class. *Students will very rarely have any homework in Science class. However, that doesn’t mean that there will never be science homework assigned. …………………………………………………………………………… ……………………………… *Parent Homework!
