Maths In Year 3 and Year 4, children develop their understanding of numbers through solving a range of problems involving money, measurements and time. Children also learn more about fractions and make links to decimal numbers. By the end of Year 4 children are expected to know their times tables facts, up to and including 12 x 12

Reading To develop positive attitudes to reading, and an understanding of what they read understand what they read, in books they can read independently retrieve and record information from non-fiction participate in discussion about both books that are read to them and those they can read for themselves, taking turns and listening to what others say

Home learning Reading Children are given a reading record and you are encouraged to read as often as you can with your child and date and sign the reading diary. We will be checking and celebrating completed reading records in class. Guided reading will happen daily, children must bring in their books and reading diary every day. Children will take a selection of books home: Star reading/Colour band Library book Children are encouraged to read their own books and visit the library!

Teeth and the digestive system Home learning Spellings and Homework Spelling test is on a Friday. Spelling lists will be sent home every Friday for the following weeks test. A homework task will also be given on a Friday to be returned following Wednesday. If children do not brig their homework back by Wednesday they will go to homework club during their lunch time. Homework will be a English task and a maths task. Mathletics (optional) Swifts termly project Chocolate Roald Dahl Teeth and the digestive system Aztecs

House keeping Any questions?
