Strategy SOUTHPORT RFC

SOUTHPORT IS A ‘RUGBY TOWN’ OUR CLUB. OUR VISION SOUTHPORT IS A ‘RUGBY TOWN’

MISSION STATEMENT We aim to have fun and to be the most enjoyable and supportive rugby club in Merseyside, for all members, players and their families. We will run the club in a financially sustainable manner and will provide the highest possible quality rugby development, for all ages, in a safe environment both at the club and in association with local schools. We are ambitious for all our teams’ prospects in their leagues and will do all we can to foster that ambition.

OUR CULTURE ‘The collective way we do things around here’ ‘Attitudes, behaviours, values supported by processes and structures that are aligned’ The way we play the game and the way we run the Club should be aligned.

OUR CORE VALUES STRAIGHTFORWARD We are honest and frank in our communication, free from ambiguity or pretence, we are plain and open. We are direct in manner, behaviour and action, but not in a way that hurts others. We set clear goals and objectives which are easy to understand and, though stretching, achievable. DYNAMIC We are positive in attitude, full of energy and new ideas. We are bold and enterprising. We do not fear change but neither do we embrace it blindly. We rapidly evaluate opportunities and take calculated risks. INNOVATIVE We are forward looking and progressive. We continuously seek new, fresh and productive ideas and approaches. We respect the past and what has gone before but are invigorated and challenged by the opportunities of the future. FRIENDLY We are welcoming and helpful to others. We understand the importance of helping and supporting each other, of working together as a cohesive team on and off the pitch. FAIR We respect each other as human beings, as team mates, as committed volunteers. We act without bias and properly at all times under the rules that govern the game and the club. We dot not tolerate cheating or disrespectful behaviour of any kind.
