Sent to Speak Again

Now that we know about the judgment what should we do? We can sit and do nothing or get up and speak the truth. Witnessing is “martus;” a martyr is a person who loses his life for speaking the truth.

10:1, Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, wrapped in a cloud, with a rainbow over his head, and his face was like the sun, and his legs like pillars of fire.  Who is the mighty angel?

1:15, his (Jesus’) feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, 16 … and his face was like the sun shining in full strength.

5:2, And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” 18:21, Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea,

V2, He had a little scroll open in his hand V2, He had a little scroll open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea, and his left foot on the land, 3 and called out with a loud voice, like a lion roaring. When he called out, the seven thunders sounded.

V4, And when the seven thunders had sounded, I was about to write, but I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and do not write it down.”

2 Cor 12:3-4, And I know that this man was caught up into paradise - whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows - 4 and he heard things that cannot be told which man may not utter.

V5, And the angel whom I saw … raised his right hand to heaven 6 and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and what is in it, the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it, that there would be no more delay,

Why are the wicked prospering? (Ps 94:3; Jer 12:1)

V7, but that in the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh angel, the mystery of God would be fulfilled, just as he announced to his servants the prophets. The mystery refers to God’s plan & purpose for his creation; it was hidden but now revealed.

Eph 3:4-5, when you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit.

The mystery of Christ refers to God’s salvation plan that was hidden in the OT but is now fully revealed to Paul and to us by the Spirit.

Eph 3:6, 9, This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel … 9 and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things,

The mystery is Gentiles and Jews will become equal heirs in Christ.

The mystery of God includes both God’s salvation plan and God’s final judgment in the end time: the inauguration of his millennial kingdom, the final judgment of the dead and demons, the recreation of new heaven and earth, the celebration of the multitude who are sealed with his name.

V8, Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me again, saying, “Go, take the scroll that is open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.” 9 So I went to the angel and told him to give me the little scroll.

V9, And he said to me, “Take and eat it; it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey” And I took the little scroll from the hand of the angel and ate it. It was sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it my stomach was made bitter.

To eat the scripture is to read and assimilate the scripture into your life. If the scripture doesn’t change your mind and heart, then there will be no change in your behavior.

Why is the Word of God sweet? When we accept & assimilate the words of God in our life, it is sweet. When we witness and someone believes in the words of God and in Christ, it is sweet.

Why is the same Word of God bitter? When we reject the words of God and rebel against God our life becomes bitter. When someone hears the words of God and rejects Him, it is bitter.

Ez 3:3, and he said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly with this scroll that I give you and fill your stomach with it.” Then I ate it, and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey.

Ez 3:4, 7, And he said to me, “Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with my words to them … 7 But the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, for they are not willing to listen to me: because all the house of Israel have a hard forehead and a stubborn heart.

Witnessing is bitter and sweet, when people reject you for speaking the truth about God’s final judgment and God’s salvation plan that is bitter, when people accept the truth and repent and believe in Christ for personal salvation that is sweet.

V11, And I was told, “You must again prophesy about many peoples and nations and languages and kings.” God may send you again to witness to peoples.
