Thursday April 21st

Bell Ringer Think about your favorite story as a child, what was it (book, fairy tale, movie, etc.)? Why was it so entertaining to you? Describe at least 3 elements of the story that made you love it so much.

Agenda Bell Ringer Discussion “The Three Little Pigs: Wolf’s Version” Assignment Instruction

Here’s an example of what the assignment is all about Here’s an example of what the assignment is all about. Let it inspire you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m75aEhm-BYw

Assignment Think of your favorite or least favorite Disney villain. I want you to write a story from that villain’s point of view explaining why he/she/it did what they did. You can either write about how your character was wrongly accused, or defend your actions by vilifying the hero/heroine of the tale.

Villain P.O.V. Your villain is just a character. Just a person. And when you approach him as you would any other person, you will realize that: HIS/HER MOTIVES DON’T HAVE TO BE PURE EVIL. This is perhaps the most important point in today’s post. A villain’s motivation doesn’t have be malevolent. He can be trying to right an injustice, or draw attention a societal ill, or help his family or race survive: just going about it in a way that’s not the best. HE/SHE CAN BE MORE CONFUSED OR MISINFORMED/ MISGUIDED THAN EVIL. This is always an option, if you want to take it, even to just a point (rather than fully). HE/SHE CAN GROW TO REGRET SOMETHING IN HIS PAST. Don’t we all have something we wish we’d done differently? Something we wish we had or hadn’t done at all? Why should your villain break this mold? Unless your villain is a narcissist by nature, why should he think he’s perfect?

Assignment Papers must be at least one page in length. Papers must be typed, single-spaced. Due Tuesday at the beginning of the period, NO EXCEPTIONS. Final Copy Typed Rough Draft Plot Diagram 12 font: Calibri or New Times Roman Remember: be creative, and have fun!! List of ALL Disney movies: http://www.disneymovieslist.com/disney-movies.asp
