Think and Write about the Quote you Received… - How does this quote relate to the goals of the founding Fathers and the Enlightenment? - What does this quote say about Presidential Power and/or the Government? - Do you agree with the quote? Why or why not?

"A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have.“ Gerald Ford "The best way to enhance freedom in other lands is to demonstrate here that our democratic system is worthy of emulation." – James Carter "To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West—know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.“ – Barrack Obama "We are a nation that has a government—not the other way around. And that makes us special among the nations of the earth." - Ronald Reagan "If government is to serve any purpose it is to do for others what they are unable to do for themselves." - Lyndon Johnson To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.“ –Theodore Roosevelt "The truth is that all men having power ought to be mistrusted." - James Madison
