Communication… E-mail is best mode of communication Long-term assignments (ex: solar journal) Upcoming assessments to help narrow the studying process Missed homework assignment(s) Recess: not showing up when expected to At times, students may email home regarding a behavior choice

Extra help opportunities… 1. Morning time – 9:10 to 9:25 2. *Start to think of recess as the “RA” period for middle school*… Error correction with homework Extra help with inclusion classes Study time for upcoming test Owed time for behavior choices or unfinished classwork

A Writer’s Notebook “A writer’s notebook works just like an incubator: a protective place to keep your infant idea warm, a place to grow while it is too young, too new, to survive on its own. In time you may decide to go back to that idea, add to it, change it, or combine with another idea” Ralph Fletcher 1996

Other information… IEPs serve as the guide to course recommendations and the transition process to middle school Restorative Practice philosophy when working through social conflicts “Taking Time” area…everyone needs a break sometimes

Last but not least… Just a “regular dude”… My two daughters have changed me forever… Being a good male role model is very important to me… No one is perfect, mistakes are for learning… I will try my best daily with your “precious cargo”… Work as a PARTNERSHIP!
