Stage 1 - Planning Application window opens from 2.30pm on 3rd February 2017; Application window closes at 23.55pm on 24th February 2017; Applications received from substantive Inspectors from other Home Office forces; Support required from Head of Command to apply (internal) with PDR (external); Officers with live formal misconduct/UPP warnings not eligible to apply.

Stage 2 – Application Stage Applications shortlisted by selection panel between 27th February to 24th March 2017 Name Blind Application Process; Successful applicants advised of outcome by 29th March 2017; Unsuccessful applicants to receive written feedback on application submission.

Stage 3 – Assessment Exercise Assessment Exercise taking place between 5th to 7th April 2017; Exercise similar to previous years: 2 minute reading; 30 minutes preparation; 10 minute presentation; questions from Panel; Outcomes announced by 12th April 2017; Unsuccessful applicants opportunity for verbal feedback from Panel member.

Stage 4 – Final Interview Applicants advised of interview for 18th April 2017; Interviews to take place 25th to 28th April 2017; Interview format competency based on PPF for Inspector; Outcome of process announced 4th May 2017; Conditional offer of appointment made subject to checks: attendance/PSD checks etc.

26/05/2018 Useful Tips Your application can only be submitted once all the required fields have been completed; Once your application has been submitted you will receive an automated message confirming that your application has been accepted and progressed for shortlisting; Any reasonable adjustments/accommodations required by an applicant should be recorded within the Equal Opportunities section of the application form;

26/05/2018 Shortlisting (1) To mitigate any potential loss of information complete the evidence field in word – then cut and paste the final version into the application form; If you open the application form and leave it open for more than 60 minutes the form “TIMES OUT”. Press save button every 20-30 minutes to save information.

26/05/2018 Shortlisting (2) Once the shortlisting process has taken place you will receive an update through the E-Recruitment system to advise you of the outcome of the shortlisting process. You will receive an electronic notification to advise you that the status of your application has changed which will prompt you to enter the system

26/05/2018 Interview Officers advised of the interview venue, location, time and date through the E-Recruitment system. Officers to be advised verbally whether successful / unsuccessful – this initial communication will then be backed up via electronic communication through E-Recruitment system. Successful officers receive formal conditional offer information.
