Warm up Identify the transformation ∆RST → ∆XYZ. Is RT congruent to XZ? What is the image of T? What is the preimage of Y?

Dilations

Dilations NOT an isometry. Dilations are a resizing of the image. They change the lengths of the segments but NOT the ANGLES.

Use the given scale factor to find the coordinates of the vertices of the image of the polygon.

Use the given scale factor to find the coordinates of the vertices of the image of the polygon.

Use the given scale factor to find the coordinates of the vertices of the image of the polygon.

Unit 2 Review

Find the value of each variable, given that the transformation is an isometry.

Translate the image by (x – 8, y + 2)

Find the pre-image (x + 12, y – 17)

Reflect over the x-axis

Reflect across y = -x

Rotate 90° Clockwise about the origin

Rotate 90° Counterclockwise about the origin

Finding the Image of a Composition Given the line segment : C(2, 0), D(3, 3) C’(2, 0), D’(3, –3) C’’(0, –2), D’’(–3, –3)
