Don’t forget about our new reading website… www.storiaschool.com First Grade 2016-2017 Sight Words Reading Students should recognize & say the words within 3 seconds. They should also know how to spell and write each word. Nonfiction: learning how to read nonfiction books and gather information from them. Nonfiction: Writing ALL ABOUT books on our own. For example, students may be writing All About Bats, All About Pumpkins, All About Spiders. Week of 10/31: not, mom, out, now, put Word Family: un Week of 11/07: ran, sat, read, run, sit Word Family: ab Week of 11/14: then, say, us, yes, saw Word Family: aw Writing Teacher Notes Math Don’t forget about our new reading website… www.storiaschool.com If you have not signed up for ClassDojo, please try to do so. It’s been a GREAT communication tool thus far. Developing addition/subtraction strategies within 20. We are staying in the range of numbers 0-20. For example… 10+10= 20 4+2=6 20-2=18 Exploring addition with 3 addends and using two of the numerals to make a ten.
