Educational Research & Evaluation Team Part of the Department of Academic Quality and Development Nicky Andrew (ERE Research Lead) Karen MacFarlane (ERE Research Fellow) Colin Milligan (ERE Research Fellow) Julie Brown (ERE Researcher) Our goal is to support educational research and scholarly activity in pedagogy, practice and policy at institutional level in partnership with the academic schools. Our key driver is the 2020 Student Experience Action Plan

Educational Research & Evaluation Team Scholarship in Learning and Teaching: act as a hub for cross-university network of staff interested in educational research and evaluation. INTERNAL & EXTERNAL DRIVERS 2020 Student Experience Action Plan, 2020 Strategic Goals, SfL. ELIR, SFC Outcome Agreement, NSS. OUTCOMES & OUTPUTS Evidence Based Strategic Development. Briefing Papers & Reports. Educational Research. Educational Research & Evaluation Team Impact Evaluation Supporting Scholarship in Learning & Teaching Education Research Senior Managers Internal Networks External Networks Support Departments GCU Schools Impact Evaluation: produce evidence of efficacy of strategic institutional priority activities. Education Research: evidence based approaches to T&L improvements.

Aim: coherence Develop institution wide community: A hub for Education Research across the University, Liaise with existing communities: School Educational Research Groups, Education focused Prof.D Students. Provide visibility for Education Research that is often deeply situated in disciplinary contexts. Work across organisational structures (e.g. with ADLTQs, ADRs, PVC-R).

Activities: support Match-make and coordinate activity to drive and strengthen research quality Share and model good practice in scholarly approaches to Learning & Teaching /Education Research – journals, peer review, methods, etc. Identifying and collecting information about opportunities and developments in the field. Seminars, Newsletters, Drop-in sessions.
