Climate helped form the Soil Conservation Service (SCS) Soil… or rather the loss of soil is what formed the SCS and the Conservation Districts

Climate Change & NRCS Priority for USDA Polarizing Subject Natural Fit for NRCS – Resiliency USDA Climate Hubs Polarizing Subject Farmers – short term weather June 2013 President’s Climate Action Plan USDA has established seven regional hubs for risk adaptation and mitigation to climate change. These Hubs will deliver science-based knowledge and practical information to farmers, ranchers and forest landowners on a regional basis to support decision-making related to climate change.

Climate

Currently at NRCS Promote resiliency with NJ farmers Write Conservation Plans $10,000,000 for conservation Soil Health Focus Group Plant Materials Center in Cape May Landscape Initiatives (Delaware watershed) Conservation Practice standards COMET-FARM USDA also released a Carbon Management Evaluation Tool (COMET-FARM) to help producers calculate how much carbon their land's soil and vegetation can remove from the atmosphere.

Cover Crops For Soil Health A lot of focus since 1936 had been on soil erosion…. Dust bowl, conservation compliance in 1985,…. Now what is exciting is the re-focus or emphasis on soil health. What is soil health?

Innovation Needs Assistance promoting soil health and innovation; Soil health systems for intensive cropping systems; Cover between row options for clean culture crops; Economic evaluation; and Regional strategies
