I grade using a Total Point System.   For total point grades, I add the total points received for the entire grading period and divide by the total points possible for that period. For example, if there were 1000 points possible for all assignments this grading period and you earned 936, we could find out your overall grade by dividing 936 by 1000. This would give you a grade of 93.6%. Grading Scale A 100 - 90 B 89- 80 C 79 - 70 D 69 - 60 F 59 - 0 Refer to your copy of the school’s Procedure’s Handbook for detailed information regarding classroom expectations and regulations (attendance, late work, makeup work, homework, etc).   REMINDER: You ONLY have 3 Days to turn in missing assignments from the date they are due. Take due dates seriously or receive a zero.

Classroom Rules and Procedures Grading Scale 40% Summative assessment (chapter and or unit test, portfolio, final paper or final project) 30% Formative assessment (interim exam, quiz, labs, projects) 20% Classwork 10% Home Learning Classroom Rules and Procedures Rules: Raise your hand silently to speak Follow all directions the first time they are giving Stay on task during work time Stay in your assigned area Keep all phones off and in your bookbag If any of these rules are broken then you will go through the steps of my CONSEQUENCES: Step 1: Warning- You will be giving a warning for your behavior Step 2: Fill out a Behavior sheet Step 3: Parent-Teacher conference Step 4: Referral- Will go see the dean of discipline Classroom Procedures: Come in turn in any assignment due from the last class to appropriate area and take your seat. Complete DO NOW on the board; you will have 5 to 7 minutes Take out binder and get prepared for the mini lesson Complete work quietly unless you are working in your groups At the end of the independent work complete Exit ticket and turn in to appropriate area The teacher will DISMISS you NOT THE BELL.

Class procedures continued: Homework/Classwork: Classwork is expected to be turned in on the day assigned unless an extension is given or the student is absent. Homework will be collected as soon as the student enters the classroom. The student is not allowed to finish the homework in the classroom. Unexcused late work will be graded with a late penalty at the discretion of the teacher. Make Up Tests/Quizzes: All tests and quizzes should be made up within five school days after being absent. Cheating: If a student is caught copying another student’s work, talking during a test/quiz, stealing a test/quiz, he/she will receive a zero on their assignment or test and a referral to administration. Parents will be notified immediately. Teachers will also notify the sponsors of groups in which good character is a stipulation for entry of continued membership (i.e. National Honor Society). Bathroom Rules: No bathroom breaks will be allowed the first and the last 10 minutes of class. No bathroom breaks will be allowed during tests and quizzes, unless it is an emergency. You will be required to take a hall pass during bathroom breaks and bring it back to the teacher. Lab Safety: Safety procedures will be followed at all times. Anyone not following procedures will be asked to sit and not participate in the class. The student will have a zero on the activity and will be sent to another classroom. Safety Drills: Students must stay calm, be quiet and follow the teacher’s instructions. Students not following instructions will receive a consequence. Beginning of the class: Students must line up outside the classroom against the wall and wait until all the students are dismiss from the previous class period. Students must enter the class quietly, go directly to their seats, take out their materials, sharpen their pencils if necessary and begin the warm up. Tardy to Class: You must have a pass. If not, you will be marked tardy. Students must be in their assigned seats before the late bell rings. Electronics/Devices: No cell phones, iPads, headphones, fidgets and fidget spinners are allowed at all times. Any of these devices will be confiscated and take it to the front office. The teacher will contact your parent and a referral to administration.
