Procedures These are the procedures for Science class…….

When you come in: Sit in your own seat Take out Science Binder Follow assignment on board Start working immediately

During Class….. Pay attention all the time…

Leaving class Wait for the teacher to dismiss you Push in chairs, take your trash with you and throw it away on your way out

Classroom Rules Be in assigned seat when the bell rings. Be prepared – including materials and homework. Raise hand for permission to speak, leave seat, etc. Follow directions the first time they are given. Respect teachers, students, students property, and school property.

Most Important Rule The most important rule in this class is: Do not engage in any behavior that I would consider rude, disruptive and/or threatening.

Policy for grading work turned in “Late” All students have the opportunity to turn in work they did not turn in on time. They may turn in any work one day after the original due date and the work will have one lower grade than the grade they would have received. After that date no work will be accepted. This includes class work, homework, projects, assignments, etc. If a student is absent then their due date starts the day after they return to school.

Materials for Science Class 3 Ring Binder (1 to 1 ½ inches), paper with 4 dividers – Labeled, (Quarter 1, Quarter 2, Quarter 3, Quarter 4) Electronic Device (phone, tablet, laptop) 2 pens (blue or black only) 2 pencils (number 2) Markers or colored pencils scissors glue Ruler (centimeters and inches) sharpener 2 highlighters (different colors) Optional: white out, stapler, erasers

How to Get Your School Grades Go to http://www.dadeschools.net Click on “Student” Portal Click on “Login to Portal” Follow instructions to log on What you need to know before logging in... User name type: student ID Your initial password is your two digit birth month, four digit birth year and the letters pw. It takes 24 hours after you are registered with the Student Portal to be able to change your initial password in the Password Management/P-Synch system.

Checking your Grades You are responsible for your own grades and so you should check them at least 2 or 3 times per week
